.........
just to share......
"Parkour is a discipline with the aim of moving from point A to point B as efficiently and quickly as possible, It is meant to help one overcome obstacles. Parkour practitioners are referred to as traceurs, or traceuses for females.
Founded by David Belle in France, parkour focuses on practicing efficient movements to develop one's body and mind to be able to overcome obstacles in an emergency.

Free Running in the other is a physical art, in which free runners use the environment to perform freedom and beauty of movements. It is merely parkour added with acrobatics, tricking and street stunts.

......I claim not to do parkour, but free running instead. I find that free running allows me to express myself and my creativity through movement.

there has been many speculation/debates on pk & freerun..

in short, pk is a discipline. it teaches us to be able to adapt to an environment when in an emergency(being chased by bullies, rescuing a damzel in distress). it is not meant for vandalism or causing public nuisance.. pk is moving from A to B. period.

.. similar to martial arts; also a discipline. we train martial arts for self defence so that we will be able defend ourselves when caught in a fight. martial arts is not meant for picking fights.

these discipline trains us to respect people and environment.

freerunning:
freerunnig is the freedom of movement. free to move which ever way you like:)

"The most important element is the harmony between you and the obstacle; the movement has to be elegant... If you manage to pass over the fence elegantly—that's beautiful, rather than saying I jumped the lot. What's the point in that?"
—Jerome Ben Aoues (experienced free runner), Jump London

tricking:
tricking is not parkour/freerun. it's acrobatics, gymnastics..

..hope this clears things a lil bit, or much bit..

some ppl may also say that name is not important.. "who cares if its parkour, freerun, 3run, or tricking... its just movement.."

but i honestly think that name is important.

we are all born with names. without names we would be called someone/something that we're not..

if people didnt care about names, you would search for parkour videos in youtube but ended up watching cooking videos instead... (no offence to anyone...)

so from this moment on.. what ever i say, or do.. i'm referring to freerunning..

fareezshah = freerunner

nice post...I want to share too...

4 me, im kinda into parkour more coz i'll always train to be more speed, fluidity and efficient between obstacle and myself.
Its funny then, coz the first reason i want to learn parkour is only so i can protect myself from bad guys out there. I juz dont like trouble at all...(Dont laugh at me...hehe)
David ones said "Some will fight and some will flee, so which side are you??" (you'll know which side is mine..hehe)

But because im a parkour stream, its not that i dont want to learn tricks and flip, i also like to learn that(tricks n flip) juz 4 my own knowledge.

So plez dont mad at me even im pakourian but also learn trick and flip. Crying or Very sad coz this is my opinion on this Parkour/freerun term.

So, get to know yourself first so you'll know what your stream is....

1 more thing, whenever you play or train, make it safe ok. Wassalam... lol! lol! lol!

true.. but in my opinion..

...safe, but yet you dont want to be scared of stepping out of your boundary and taking things to the next level..

..you can either wait for your confidence to come, wait for your body to be ready to do the move... or you can make it happen at that moment. take the risk..

..to wait for your chance, or to create your own chance..

again, its just my opinion:) hehe..

yup... some people use this method ''take the risk". Very Happy

i know a person who always take the risk..AFIQ 'the brave one' Laughing Laughing Laughing

1 thing 4 sure and remembered, "Know the risk, take the risk, grab the challenge and go on make you move, go on make your day..."
